Frequently asked questions

Do you see men too?

YES! While Dr. Sarah's primary focus is on women and kiddos, her goal is for the entire family to experience higher levels of health and well-being. If someone resonates with this style of care, I am more than happy to see them! If you are unsure if it is a good fit, please reach out to schedule

 a phone consultation.

What if I just want to come in when I am in pain?

That's ok! I will still love and care for you. However, I would not be doing you justice if I did not educate you on the physiology of pain and how it is a signal that something is not right. If you get adjusted just when you are in pain, you are not addressing the underlying causes of why you are in pain. This is especially true if you throw out your back once a year or every few years, or if you wake up and can't turn your neck. These are signs that your nervous system is not as adaptable to stress and that your neuro-spinal system is lacking integrity either through fluidity of movement, range of motion, or alignment.

But I love the cracking and popping!

That's great! I actually joke that if you are looking for a conventional chiropractic approach, you may be disappointed. This is not because this care isn't beneficial, but because some people prefer a more obvious adjustment.

When you combine the approaches that I do, it can often seem to the untrained eye, that not much is happening, this is of course, not true!

By applying gentle pressure to different areas of the body, utilizing low force + transitional adjustments, and gentle, rhythmic movement, we allow the body to soften + release tension which unwinds the fascial web that weaves through the entire body.

This means that the first thing people notice is just feeling more relaxed, and then a few minutes, hours, or even into the next day, people will feel more mobility + less tension.

I just found out I am pregnant, when should I start seeing you?

ASAP! The earlier the better. I want you to have the most optimal pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum period. That is done by ensuring your pelvis is balanced and supporting your nervous system to be as regulated as possible.

Many will wait until their baby is in a poor position (chiropractic makes more space for baby to move), or they are in so much pain that they can hardly function, we don't recommend this.

I say, as soon as you are considering it, it's a great time to connect. We can always do an assessment and see what your current state of tension is, and if it makes sense to start care now, or if we can space things out until you are further along.

I just had my baby. How long should I wait to come in?

Some mamas come see me on the way home from the hospital. Honestly, as soon as you are comfortable, I am happy to see you. Childbirth is a physically and emotional event that often ends in all attention going straight from mama to baby. Women are overlooked in the postpartum period and I take tremendous responsibility in caring for y'all. You do not have to be able to lay face down to get adjusted either. I am able to adapt to what is comfortable for you.
